| Gettysburg Optical recently celebrated its THIRD anniversary, and like Gettysburg, has much more to its history.Back in the 1960's it was originally known as Martin Optical, a small Mom and Pop business. In the early 1970's the shop was purchased by a large retail corporation (US Vision), which renamed it Wall and Ochs. As an employee of US Vision, Victoria Crouse, known to everyone as "Vicki", learned the trade of opticianry through her apprenticeship. With over twenty years of experience, and when US Vision decided to close Wall and Ochs, "Vicki" realized what a mistake that would be for Gettysburg. While not part of the historic Battlefield, this shop is part of Gettysburg's history. While the patient records, and all major equipment were removed by the former owners, they left behind the soda-shop like optical benches and frame boards. "Vicki" recognized the opportunity and today supplies old-fashioned service with state of the art optical products. |

Hosey, O.D.
Dr. Hosey is from West Pittston, PA. and did her undergraduate studies at Scranton University. She received her optometric degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1991. She is board certified by both the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the Pennsylvania Board of Optometry.
Dr Hosey's practice includes family eye care, contact lenses, pre- and postoperative cataract and refractive surgery evaluations, as well as glaucoma management. She specialize in those hard to fit contact lens patients, including patients with corneal diseases such as Keratoconus and post corneal transplant patients.
Dr Hosey currently lives in Harrisburg with her husband Troy who is also an optometrist, and they are parents of two beautiful girls, Alexandra and Madelyn. |
